I’ve been pretty sick all week culminating in going home from work sick on Saturday and then sleeping a solid 14 hours (yet still managing to watch Caddyshack, The Abyss, Ratatouille and Resident Evil: Apocalypse). I started to feel better tonight and then I just had to get out of the house. I ended up going to Wal-Mart with the intention of getting a DVD. However, after about 20 minutes I realized why I don’t buy DVDs from Wal-Mart.
Yes, there were deals, Season 1 of Friday Night Lights was only $15, but overall I wasn’t impressed. Most of the DVDs are the one disc version and are often only available in full screen. One DVD I wanted to buy was the Wall-E 3 Disc set, but why would I pay $35 for it there when I can get it from amazon at $23? There was a few movies that I thought were a value at $9, but they were also movies that I know for a fact I can watch on Netflix Online and couldn’t bring myself to buy them. The one reasonably priced DVD I found (2 disc Iron Man) was sold out. Of course. Eventually I gave up, grabbed a pizza and some apple juice and went home.
