Roll Tide

I’ve really been getting into college football lately, mostly due to NCAA Football 2008 on the Xbox. I used to dislike it because the Eric Crouches of the world don’t end up being good pros, but the more I think about it college football is just better than the pros. Better overtime. More exciting. Crazier fans. Better TV viewing experience. Better playoff.

I’ve been reading more about it lately too and this story is amazing.

The University of Alabama is set to honor Mobile native James M. Fail by placing his name on a prominent fixture at Bryant-Denny Stadium. A donation by Mr. Fail to the Crimson Tide Foundation will result in the visitor’s locker room being officially named “The Fail Room.”

The best part is, only in college could this happen. Could you imagine a pro team trying to do this? The players union would be so far up the team’s ass they’d probably forfeit a game. Only in college where the athletes are uncompensated with no real rights could this happen. That’s why college football rules.
