I added a new website to what I lovingly refer to as the vintown network this weekend, LCD Flat Screen Deals. About a year ago my dad bought his LCD Flat Screen TV from Dell, I think he paid something like $1500 for it. Then he got an email from Dell this past week about the same size TV for like $1100. We briefly debated buying it and ended up not buying it, but in the end it gave me an idea. I searched google with the phrase “lcd flat screen” and just came upon random articles and sites selling TVs. So I logged into Google Adwords Keyword Tool to see what type of volume that search was getting and it was big time. 110k for that, 50k for lcd flat screen tv, on and on. I realized that there were deals going on for these TVs every day, especially now with Christmas upon us and that there was no page dedicated to this that knew how to get good google rankings. This was a perfect storm so I created the site. It’s pretty basic. I sign up with affiliate networks, sign up for their newsletters on specials and then post what I find. Sometimes I do independent searches, but the emails will always supply me with what I need so I need to do very little to keep it going. Will it work? I hope so. I think it’s a good idea and if I can get good search engine placement the site should sell itself. Fingers crossed.
