My new obsession

Hollywood Stock Exchange. I’ve been trying to get into trading stocks for awhile now, but I am just kind of nervous and don’t know if I am ready for the financial risk (especially coming off a two week suspension at work). So, I did the next best thing and joined Hollywood Stock Exchange. If anyone isn’t familiar with the site you basically trade movies and movie stars like you trade stocks. They have expected earnings that you either buy or short. I am a big shorting guy. I think it’s easier to predict something to do bad than to predict something to do good. (Kind of like my dating life? There’s a joke in there.) I shorted Max Payne (have you seen that trailer? What happened to you Mark?) and made a cool $90k before taking the money. I have a short in on Saw V, but I might have to take the loss on that one and a short on Repo! The Genetic Opera because that isn’t going to make anything. It might be good, but there is absolutely nothing about that movie that makes me want to go to a theater and I love going to the theater. The hard part is not just going with stuff you like. I noticed today that Sarah Michelle Gellar is in the top of most widely held stars. Why? There’s no reason to own her unless you like her. Her movie career is in the toilet right now. I wanted some Kristen Bell, but her upcoming release schedule is weak.

It’s a pretty fun site to mess around with though and you can compete against your friends. Scotsman is doing it and he’s beating me right now, but he put all his money in W. Good luck with that buddy.

If you join and want to follow me, my username is vintown. Naturally.
