This isn’t the hyper-competitive Michael Jordan that I know

I’ve read a few books about Michael Jordan, including David Halberstam’s classic Playing for Keeps, and he was always portrayed as the most competitive guy in the world. Going so far as to punch Steve Kerr in the face. A video recently surfaced of a mutual fund CEO beating Michael one on one and it just doesn’t play right. Why doesn’t Michael punch him in the face? Or at least foul him hard?
Watching the video, it’s obvious Jordan wasn’t actually trying. If he made those threes and beat him, fine but it wasn’t like he was going to D him up or drive the lane. This was a gift.
