I joined Twitter this week and I still haven’t really figured out what it’s good for, but I definitely like it . For those unfamiliar with twitter it’s basically Facebook or Myspace status updates (“Vince is chasing rainbows.”) and that’s it. You can follow other people and see what their doing in the feed. Right now I have only one of my actual friends and a bunch of random celebrities and semi-celebrities. My buddy Graeme signed up with me and without it I would have never known that he missed the bus to the airport and had to drive. Did I need to know that? Doubtful. Did I need to know that James Gunn, writer/director of Slither, is in a cab in NYC on the way to the airport and that he had a great trip? Absolutely not, but it’s cool to know. We live in a world where we get information all the time and I love knowing every single thing about the things I want to know about the moment they happen. Why should it be different for my friends?
