Bud Selig and Houston

I’ve long said that if I ever met Bud Selig I would punch him in the face just to be a hero to the masses. Nowadays I really don’t know why I ever came up with that in the first place. Sure, I hate the way he tries to make cities build stadiums for billionaires and that whole contraction thing really pissed me off. Collusion probably didn’t help either. He was also one of the worst owners when he owned the Brewers (let’s collect guys who hit homeruns and do little else!), but there wouldn’t even be the Brewers without him or the Mariners for that matter. Or the Wild Card. So I really don’t hate the guy that much, it all kind of evens out at the end.

However, his decision to play the Astros games in Milwaukee was pretty bad and his apology wasn’t much better.

I recognized the advantage the Cubs would have in playing in such close proximity to Chicago and had there been a better option, I would have taken it. All of us involved in the decision regret the frustration the Astros and their fans felt about playing two games in Milwaukee.

I have a hard time believing that Milwaukee was their best option, more likely it was the easiest.
