I want Ned Yost to be the next manager of the Seattle Mariners. There I said it. I realize in the grand scheme of things that managers make little to no difference on the outcomes of games. If anything it’s two games a year. I also realize that it might be the negative two games after watching Yost be out coached by Charlie Manuel on Sunday. (For those that didn’t see it he brought in Shouse, his LOOGY, to face Utley and Howard with no one else warming up. The Phils realized this and had Utley lay down a sac, causing the intentional walk to Howard which led to Shouse pitching to Burrell. Something that shouldn’t happen under any situation. He gets an RBI and then the next batter, also RH, hits a 3 run bomb to win.) But Yost does a great job handling his team. He sticks up for his players and he is really careful with a pitching staff. In fact, I will go so far as to say that’s the ONLY reason I want him. With Morrow and Felix on our staff going into next season we can’t afford to have someone who will let those two routinely pass 120 pitches with no regard for their long term health. Ned Yost is a good manager despite what the fans in Milwaukee think and he needs to be our next manager. He’s the best man for the job.
