I hate Hollywood so much. This doesn’t even make sense.
A new incarnation of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” could be coming to the big screen.
“Buffy” creator Joss Whedon isn’t involved and it’s not set up at a studio, but Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment are working with original movie director Fran Rubel Kuzui and her husband, Kaz Kuzui, on what is being labeled a remake or relaunch, but not a sequel or prequel.
Screw you Kuzuis. You did a terrible job developing the movie by turning it into straight camp. Then you just get to sit back and get paid while Joss Whedon turns it into a series that lasts seven seasons (AND you get paid for its spinoff despite having ZERO creative influence on it). Now you want to come in and trample on the whole thing with a stupid reboot likely to star Hannah Montanna, Hayden Panettiere or some other Hollywood jailbait. I get it, you want to capitalize on the success of Twilight. Here’s the thing if you didn’t do such a shitty job developing the movie the first time around this could have been Twilight. You had it right in your hands and you fucked it up. Now you want to come back and fuck it up again. Fuck right off Kuzuis.

I hope this upsets you as well: (ha that doesn’t sound right; what I meant to imply is that I hope this grinds your gears like it does mine so that we have something to complain about when I get back to work)
I hope you have heard that they are remaking the ultimate classic Drop Dead Friend.
The new boyfriend in Forgetting Sarah Marshall is Fred. And although he is hilarious (check out his stand up) I’m having trouble seeing him as one of my favorite childhood characters.
Also, the Redeye called the original DDF a “flop”. I was severely offended.
@LDF I am sure you love that movie and I am sure that I enjoyed it too, but we’re talking about BUFFY here. The show that changed my life forever (this may be an understatement or overstatement, either way). I have to agree with you though that Russell Brand is the wrong guy for the job. I actually think that he is going to end up flopping pretty bad and we won’t see this movie. Of all the Judd Apatow movies “Get Him to the Greek” sounds the least appealing. He’s a pretty funny guy, I just don’t see him as any sort of star or as having any likable qualities. His stand up doesn’t really do it for me. (Give me Zach Galifianakis and his sweet piano.)
Anyways as far as DDF goes, it’s just typical Hollywood remake fever. I have a hard time getting mad about it because it happens every day. Their even re-making Arthur with Brand. ARTHUR! How I hate them
