One last election thought..
Nov/080
Well, it’s here and I said my two bits about who I voted for and why for the most part. I think it’s important to know that. This is actually the first election I have ever voted in and I am proud of that to an extent because I honestly feel that this is the first election that I have deserved to vote in. I know the issues, I know the candidates, I know what to expect from them and I voted accordingly. Could I have said that in the previous two elections I was eligible to vote? Absolutely not. I once told someone that I have never voted and they told me that “voting was the most important thing I could do in my life” and I thought they were an idiot. That person may have had a point, you should vote but if you ask me it’s only important to vote if you know what you’re voting for. Obama is going to win because he seems cool, he seems different, but do his policies really help a lot of the people that are voting for him? Maybe, maybe not. The point is that a lot of people DON’T KNOW if they do or not and that is the problem. I once heard a quote that said “I have to take a test to get a drivers license, but anyone can vote.” I mean, even with American Idol you should watch the singing before you vote. So if you vote, just make sure you did it for the right reason. It’s kind of important.
