I’ve given up on this season. Really. Without Matt we are hopeless and at this point I’m leaning more towards him retiring in two weeks than him playing in two weeks. It’s sad, but that’s just what happens when you play a sport where people are tackling you all the time. I’ve always loved Seneca Wallace and really hope that he becomes a franchise QB, that would be ideal and he has the tools around him to do that. But let’s talk about this season at 2-5 the Seahawks still have a chance to make the playoffs because they are in probably the worst division in football. 8-8 could get them in, 9-7 most likely will. So they need to go 7-2 from here on out, can they do it?
UPCOMING SCHEDULE:
Eagles
@ Miami
Arizona
Washington
@ Dallas
Patriots
@ St. Louis
NY Jets
@ Arizona
Looking at the schedule they need to do three things:
- Sweep the West. 3-0 against the Cardinals and Rams is a MUST.
- Win the easy ones. The Jets and Dolphins are beatable.
- Steal two against good teams. The NFC East is stacked and the Patriots aren’t the Patriots of old, but their still a force to be reckoned with. Luckily for us with the exception of the Cowboys game all of these tough games are in Seattle.
I think it’s doable, but I’d think it was a whole lot more doable if we could just play the 49ers for the rest of the season. The last three games have been a better gauge of what this team really is. With a healthy Matt they win all three, they might have beaten Green Bay with Seneca. This team isn’t as terrible as it’s looked, but it’s not likely to win the Super Bowl either.
