After reading the latest on Larry Johnson, Matt Jones and Pacman Jones (no link necessary if you have ever watched television) I’ve come to the conclusion that Paul Tagliabue is a genius for quitting when he did. He avoided Spygate, he avoided Michael Vick, he avoided Tank Johnson AND Chris Henry. Plus, let’s not forget that he avoided all these labor issues that are boiling to the surface and are sure to blow up in Roger Goodell’s face. Sure, you could say that he just pushed them off onto him but it’s a more complicated issue. The point is that this man handled the league during one of it’s most successful time peroids and left before the castle started to crumble. Whether that was on purpose or not, genius.
I could almost respect the guy if he didn’t have a hand in fixing Super Bowl XL.
