Our next president

Well it’s almost time. I am voting today, but for most of the world tomorrow is the day of the election. I honestly can’t wait for it to be over so we can go back to arguing about more important things, like Mike Cameron’s option being picked up (great move, imo). I think it’s going to take a lot for John McCain to be elected and we are looking at a world where Barack Obama is going to be our next president. Some people are happy about this (like every celebrity and 18-24 year old in the world) and some like me aren’t. There are serious questions about this guy that have been glossed over in the media because he gives great speeches and he makes reporters feel all tingly inside. Hilary Clinton focused on his ability to lead with her famous 3 AM phone call and that worked, to an extent. McCain somehow ignored this and it will probably cost him. His campaign was all over the place and never focused on one thing like Obama did and that’s huge.

It’s crazy to me that there has been so little coverage of Obama’s Illinois history. Or foreign and unaccountable funds coming into the campaign. Or Obama’s plan to bankrupt the coal industry. Or Obama’s aunt being an illegal US citizen. The picture above. It goes on and on. Unless you are listening to talk radio or reading blogs you are missing this stuff and it’s just crazy. Do I think John McCain is the best man for the job? Not really, but this is a two horse race and of the two horses John McCain is definitely the right one imo. Presidents are made by their campaigns and Obama’s was just a lot better. Thank you David Axelrod.

The whole Obama campaign reminds me of the movie SFW. In that movie terrorists kidnap some people and force the networks to carry their tapings of the hostages. One of the hostages, Stephen Dorf, is a cool badass and he says “So fucking what” which becomes a national slogan and he becomes one of the most famous people in America. That to me is Barack Obama. He’s cool, he’s smart, he’s suave and he created a catchphrase that sparked a nation. Does that make a good president? I doubt it, but we’re all going to find out.

NFL

This is getting old

Obama and McCain to be interview on Monday Night Football. Seriously, I’m getting to the point where I miss the days when you only saw the candidates on the debates and the news. They’ve been on Saturday Night Live (every episode for the past two seasons I believe), Monday Night RAW (likely the main reason Obama is winning right now (Seriously, why McCain didn’t come out with Steve Austin, give someone a Stone Cold Stunner and drink a few Steveweisers I’ll never know. McMahon is a Republican for chrissakes!)) and now Monday Night Football. We’re two elections away from candidates appearing as special guests on the 25th season of ER. The question is, will Chris Berman think of stupid nicknames for both of them? (Barack of Gibaltar? McCain and Abel?) Or go with pre-existing nicknames?

Cindy McCain

Now, let me get this straight. Cindy McCain knows how to drift cars, but doesn’t know what Roe v Wade is? I don’t even know what to say to that.
